She's 8! How did that happen??

Our Angel girl, K1, turned 8 last Friday!
It all happened in the BLINK OF AN EYE!
Eight years ago, she entered our lives and mine has never been the same.
She's a beautiful, empathetic, sensitive, DRAMA-filled, intelligent, math-loving big girl who loves her friends and family FIERCELY!

I love you, sweet baby girl. *sigh*

Enjoy her "This is Me" version!

How does YOURS compare? As well as some cold/flu helpers!

Have you ever tried this? Worth a shot for the next cold/flu, in addition to other key nutrients.

As for those key nutrients....here are my favorite IMMUNITY boosters............

And how does YOUR Children's Vitamins or PRENATAL compare?  Click to enlarge, and if you have questions or think your vitamins are fine....make sure they dissolve in water. Check THIS out to prove that I'm not making this us!

Ahoy, Matey....Princess?

Last month, I took the girls to the Jake and Sofia Disney Jr Live show in St Paul- to say we were ALL excited is an understatement! I purchased tickets last Spring, and we had 4th row!

K2 had two costumes to wear: First up, was Sofia the First, as she has loved her from the minute she laid eyes on her. She looked adorable in her dress, and thanks to Keifer's overpriced cotton candy, K2 also got a tiara to wear! (came in handy on Halloween, as well!)
My phone pictures aren't the best, but you get the idea that we were OH SO excited!  K1 used her own $$ to buy cotton candy, and Kyla used hers to buy that overpriced Sofia cup with shaved ice in it (which ended up half on the floor).
I bought some popcorn and we were set!
We were ALL tickled pink when Sofia came out dancing and singing! I, of course, got tears in my eyes watching Kyla's eyes light up!!!!!!

Next, it was intermission and time for JAKE and his Neverland friends to chase that Hook and save the treasure (or something like that!) Kyla did a costume change, and the people around us were laughing and clapping for our little "Izzy"!!  This was her costume from Halloween last year!  What a ball we had putting this on!! And, the best parts? Two of the female "extra" pirates from the show came through the audience and Kyla got some great pics with them, and our neighbors were there watching the show, as well! Kayla is the same age as Kyla and her and her mom Jenni came on down to visit us. What fun we had again!

Can you tell Keifer is a little Pirate? What a ham this girl is! LOL
Once the lights dimmed, it was time for some rocking and rolling! I LOVED the music and it was SO fun to watch the escapades on stage!
I think the best part for ME, as mom, was when Peter Pan came flying in.....Kyla gasped audibly, put her little hands over her mouth, and said, "OH MY GOD! It's the REAL PETER PAN!"
I about peed my pants laughing at her (and tears again, springing from my eyes, at her pure joy!)

So yeah, we are huge fans of Disney, can you tell!?  Hope you are able to do something as fun as we did with your own kiddos!!!  And yes, I AM that dorky mom who gets all excited about things like this! What memories we have now!

Wednesday: Not wordless, but singing? Yep!

Giving you a quick glimpse of the song we sang on Sunday with our Worship band (special music). I know I've posted many times on here, Keifer singing....and now Kyla decided SHE wanted to join us in front and sing, too.
You can REALLY hear K1 belt it out during the chorus and I know you'll be able to also hear that OFF KEY Kyla singing, as well! I couldn't have K2 stand near me, because then I couldn't keep MY tune! LOL

Enjoy!

And.... a few quick snapshots of Keifer w/her beloved Nana & Papa who came down to help me this weekend  and then of K2, who loves to color during church!
**and FYI, K2 picked out her OWN outfit that day!**

K1 "raps" - get ready for a giggle

Ahh, my silly girl!
Found this on my phone the other night, long after she had "rapped" into it, as I was pumping gas!
Ahhh, K1, you make me so happy with your talent and humor!
*and guess what? I didn't even KNOW she knew HOW to beat box! *

Last Month's Parade......

So last month, our Church (again) had a float in the cities' annual "Fire Muster Parade". The "Fire Muster" is a yearly event that takes place over the weekend. Our church is located smack dab in the middle of the parade route, which can be both good and bad, depending on how you feel about parades!
Our girls happen to LOVE parades!
If you recall, we were already in one parade this past summer! They (and I) feel like pros! Ha!

Last year, the girls and I hopped on the float with our Worship band and sang a bunch of tunes we had performed the previous year. Keifer had no qualms about picking up one of two mics and belting out the songs, like she was a soloist.
This year, she again belted out some tunes, the ones that we knew, and had a blast. Kyla joined us while we waited during the line up, but she then walked with Daddy and watched just the beginning of the parade. They then left, because YOU KNOW, it was the first "FOOTBALL Sunday in our home. *(ahem)*

Here is a few snaps of the girls and I during the line up, waiting in the beautiful sun to head out.

Kyla posing for Daddy
Our amazing Pastor Joy, her hubby, and another church member marching prior to our float
Here we come, belting out the tunes! The Worship band!

And here are a couple REALLY WOBBLY (don't get sick!!! I'm warning you!) video clips of Keifer singing some tunes on the float. CJ was walking and trying to video the Live Event, but walking and videotaping doesn't work without a dolly. Watch it, but maybe just LISTEN to it? LOL.
I tried to upload another cute clip, but blogger wouldn't let me load it, so carry on.....enjoy!

Three reasons I love Jimmy.....

....Fallon.  Just three for TODAY. I adore this boy, and love his hysterical sense of humor. He and JT need to get on the road together. As a friend of mine said: "I'd love to just sit and shoot the shit with the two of them in a bar, and watch them play off each other".

First up, the Hash Tag video: I was crying I laughed so hard at this. It's so silly! And TRUE!

#Ididitallforthecookie! *(crying*)

And then the Lip Sync Battle! Oh My!! Another instant classic!

I can't get enough of JF and JT doing their sleepaway Camp......the one with "Africa" is way funnier than their "Hootie" one....

Lipstick Tutorial by a 6 year old, anyone?

I honestly had no idea she was doing these videos- I'm not sure if they are supposed to be like ICarly or what, but she thinks pretty highly of herself! LOL Notice her ADD behavior (between the lipstick, blowing/picking her nose and talking about the bathroom walls......)
Don't forget, "you also have to blot it"
*giggling*

She has never seen anything like Tiffany D on Youtube, but it totally made me think of her! LOL

Puppet Show (*Trip Trap*)

I had to stop at the library the other day. Both girls love to go to the library- to pick out books, DVDs for the car, and of course, the (dirty) toys!
Kyla loves to put on puppet shows. She was making a ton of voices, doing the "troll' and the "billy goats" and Trip Trapping away. Then, I turned on the camera. And it all came to a halt! LOL.
Here's a glimpse of Kyla's pretend play.
She really is a hoot!

K1's Solo on Mother's Day

I was moved to tears when Keifer did her very first "official" solo on Mother's Day, with our worship band.
Here she is in the first one, singing her solo. She belted it out at home, and in the car, but was shy at the actual production.

The bottom one, here, I added just because she is letting loose a bit more, and you get to see the girl I SEE at home on the mic! Enjoy and hope your Mother's Day was blessed!

She talks, I talk, everybody talks......

Oh, how I love to watch Kyla talk. And talk. And make those silly faces with her mouth/lips as she really enunciates her words. Here is from the other day, when I learned she was playing Power Girl and Power Boy at daycare.
To say she is a Drama Girl is truly an understatement.

Just a swinging...(and chatting and silly faces....)

Confused by the sideways picture? I was, too. Then I began to really look at the pictures I had on my Iphone camera roll. Um, hello, Keifer. I didn't realize you had taken OVER my phone's camera roll and took pictures and video taped yourself making silly faces and telling tall tales. Oh, she is a hoot! Enjoy our Keifer girl and all her silliness on display!
I love her upside down self-portraits! So creative! (thank goodness I didn't know she had my phone, I wouldn't have let her get all loosey-goosey with the phone! Egads!)

I like that she mentions Alabama (?? say what ??) and how she "just got home from Disney". Yeah, that was over a year ago, toots. LOL.

Practicing for the stage

This video clip is from the dog days of winter, when Friday nights are spent playing with new neighborhood friends, their parents, and musical instruments. This is K1 and one of her best friends, playing our guitars (surprisingly well, with their strumming!)....and it's a hoot to watch, as Kyla gets in on the action. Don't be fooled when that tricky K2 runs off screen: she comes back, ready for her show, and notice the little "bent leg" action she gets in. And notice how K1 and friend move backward slightly, to give the show girl her space. Enjoy: smile, it's Friday!

Friends- give friends- a hand!

Well, at least that's what the Fresh Beat Band sings about! And what a night we had in the beginning of March-going to see the Fresh Beat Band LIVE- on stage!!!

It was good we (Keifer and I) even made it there, as we both had the FLU BUG (aka vomit bug) earlier in the week. I had it Tuesday and Wednesday, Keifer had it Wednesday, and Kyla had it late Wed/early Thursday night. CJ had stayed home with Kyla that Thursday, and she "seemed" OK to go. Oops. Not really. She vomited on the way to pick sissy up at school-so we frantically played "WHO CAN GO TO THE SHOW WITH US?" games until the last minute - and being it was a 5PM concert, that was pretty tricky (stressful, in my opinion!)

Luckily, our new and dear neighbor friends made it at the last second and K1 was able to rock out to the band with her buddy, A. from across the yard.

Keifer, having her sensory issues, of course, acted like she wasn't too into the band and didn't want me to TOUCH HER, as she was taking all the sensations in (and I admit, I enjoyed the show myself!). However, in the car on the ride home, her and A. giggled in the back seat about how that was the best show they'd ever seen!

Here are some VIDEO CLIPS of our concert experience

Enjoy her crooning, and disregard sissy yapping away in the background :)

"come back, there's a wolf out there"

The girls love to play together inside their Princess tent that was a hand-me-down/Christmas gift from cousin Abby. In and out they go, and it's a lot of fun to listen to what Keifer has to tell Kyla in the privacy of this tent.
In this video, she was warning Kyla that there is a WOLF out there! LOL I love it.

Attempting our own hip hopping

K1 has a new semi-favorite show (when not watching a few others) - The Fresh Beat Band. She loves it for all the music and dancing they do, and is insistent that we HAVE to go and meet the cast of this show RIGHT NOW! (she doesn't understand that it's fiction!)

Anyhoo, here she is showing Nana Di a few weeks ago how the ending dance goes: Enjoy:
