I discovered I love Brian Freeman (he sets his murder mysteries in Duluth!), Karin Slaughter, Tess Gerritsen, I love Jeffery Deaver and "The Blue Nowhere" was my fave of his, I really loved the "Hunger Games" trilogy and "The Passage" (the first in an upcoming trilogy), and the memoir "The Late Homecomer". I started last year with "Blame", which I felt was a really moving and thought provoking read.
I finally read the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" series and *myself* found the overrated and not as good as some of the mystery writers listed above.
I also started MANY recommended books (by magazines or people) and returned them to the library for lack of interest on my part -
including:
"The Lonely Polygamist"
"The Postmistress"
"Maybe This Time"
"Late, Late at Night" (a memoir by Rick Springfield, yes, gag me! :))
and a few others.
I'm also part way through many "sensory" child type books- and will list them as I finish them in their entirety!
