Go baby, we have a birthday! :)

I had my 22 week check up yesterday. All appears to be going smoothly for baby Kyla inside me. I'm still feeling the kicks and flutters, and she makes us very happy.

The doctor found the heartbeat immediately- which always is a great blessing to hear- and we discussed my planned Csection. After the nightmare delivery the first time around, I am feeling somewhat relieved to have a plan in place. I think *IF* I go "on my own" with this one, we'll see how things progress, and go from there. If Kyla is anything like her big sissy, Keifer, she will would stay forever inside mommy's warm womb.

That being said, we scheduled my Csection for June 11! *gasp*. It's so exciting! I immediately called CJ on the way out of the office, and then called both sets of grandparents. I'm walking around on cloud 9 today. I'm not sure why this is sooooo exciting, I mean, she's coming anyways! (!) but to have THE DATE on the calendar makes this all so real!

Babycenter.com tells us: At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.See what your baby looks like this week.

Why not attempt a VBAC since it's a preferable way to come into the world, better for baby and a much easier recovery for mother. Don't let doctors scare you into thinking that once a C, always a C and the way they overstate the risks of vaginal birth but gloss over those of a surgical delivery.
