Storms

Yesterday afternoon, we had some major storms move through the area we live in. Thankfully, K was up north about 25 miles at daycare for the day and they didn't have nearly the ferocious storms we did. I found Treble shaking in our downstairs bathroom, trying to figure out how to get into the shower stall. The sirens went off, signalling a severe thunderstorm, which can be pretty scary. I got our laundry room "post" all ready, where the walls are concrete, and turned on the news, as I sat in the basement with the fur kids. Eventually, the sirens went off again, with a tornado warning, so me and the fur kids camped out for about 20 minutes in the laundry room. Poor fur kids, they get so nervous. Truth be told, after the storms in Hugo over Memorial weekend, I was pretty nervous, too. Eventually, the sun came out and all was well.

However, Corey and Jill weren't as lucky. Corey sent these pics to CJ last night, with the damage of what happened at their house about 20 minutes east of us. Lightening apparently struck their tree next to their house, their beautiful tree that provides shade for their deck on the back of the house. Thank God it missed their house, their deck, and their shed. Who knows how much worse the damage might have been.

Holy Moly! I recognize (and remember fondly) that backyard! That is crazy! I'm so glad everyone is OK. (and yes, I'm just a bit behind...)
