Who is more excited: K or Mama? Mama !

I'm so excited! I have 6 days left of work and then it's summer summer summer time for me and K!

I have our girl signed up and ready to start baby ballroom classes for 6 weeks, starting the 2nd week in June. She'll be still going to Elaine's for one day a week- Thursdays, and there she will also get swim lessons from a certified swim instructor along with her friends. I have our county libraries' schedule for all the free summer fun they will be offering, and we now have our season pass to the MN zoo, which is only a 15 minute drive for us. All these fun things, plus the indoor/outdoor swimming pool at our gym, and play dates with family and friends, should shape up to be a fun and FAST summer for mama and Keifer Lynn!

Uh oh: terrible 14 month olds?

Keifer has had her lingering raspy cough, sniffy nose, and annoying teeth coming in - all at once. She is a cranky girl lately. However, I think we're seeing new development in her independent skills, as she has started protesting LOUDLY and with a very dramatic flair when she is forced (yes, we force her to do things already!), to do things she apparently doesn't want to do. For example, tonight she was held down and strapped into her high chair against her will. It was horrible; we were so mean to her. Until, of course, the food was presented. Then she happily jabbered and ate until suddenly: no more food!

Giving her a bath has turned into an Olympic sport, and tonight, she got so angry at me for washing her crusty, booger(y) nose, that she screeched in an angry new tone I've never heard before and tried her hardest to grab my finger to BITE DOWN ON! Yes, our darling angel girl tried to bite her beloved Mama on purpose, in anger.

*sigh*

I still held her, smelled her clean head, and cherished my minutes with her as she sucked down her nightly bottle before bed. She is just still learning, and I forgive all her anger and protests. Granted, she is big enough to be put down in her crib, her bottle in her small hands, her lovie against her cheek, and able to fall asleep on her own. But I will miss these nights far sooner than later. This won't last long, and I have to remember, not everyone is as blessed to even have the ability to post about these moments.

Go, Go, Go, Keifer!

Coming Soon

Sorry for being MIA.
I've had a ton of things going on at work, as we have 7 days left and many loose ends to tie up. We were OOT this past weekend at CJ's parents in Grand Forks, so I have many pics and stories to post. I woke up on Tuesday blind in my left eye, which signals a migraine coming on (yep, it hit and hard), so I was layed out all day Tuesday. Many things going on and I will post as soon as I have some time, which most likely wont' be until tomorrow night or this weekend.

Wordless Wednesday: Reading is fun for Everyone!

Sunday AM at CJ's parents' home this past weekend. CJ was catching up on local news, Abby was reading K's beloved Old McDonald book, and Auntie Wanda was watching as K pointed out all her favorites in Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Such bliss.

Friends forever? Bday party recap part 1

Last Saturday, my friend Beth's daughter Reya, turned one. It was also my birthday, so I thanked Beth for having such a wonderful Bday bash- catered Mexican food ( my fave!), Corona (yum), and delicious cake! Beth, Lori and I (pictured first here) have been friends since college, and actually, I knew Lori in high school, when we did a report in AP English on Lord of the Flies. *our other friend Jen is missing, her daughter Sloan is pictured below*

The party was a blast and I've never seen Keifer have SO much fun before! She is in love with other kids, and it was absolutely delightful to see. She loves babies and for some reason, she is really especially drawn to Reya: the two girls chatter like birds to each other the minute they see each other! LOL.

She's all done with this green stuff

As you will see, our angel girl is NOT a fan of grass. She refuses to move in it, and hasn't budged on attempting to crawl in it. It's quite funny, actually. Here's the clip and you get to see her become her little "hambone" self that she has so recently started doing. Enjoy.

Much Belated 13 month pictures:

We're a few weeks late, please don't hold it against us! Mama got lazy! We've been busy! Here they are - our girl is turning into a regular ragamuffin! LOL.

What IS this hat doing on in the house?

So big!
Here, let me show you how to take this sign off
Ahh, I'm gonna GET YOU, mama!

Wordless Wednesday: Saving for a rainy day?

I hope she learns how to do this with the real cha-ching! *wink wink*

Yay for fine tuning her pincer grasp!! LOL

And now there are 5: Donor update

*sigh*
Five couples ahead of us on the waiting list at our clinic waiting for anonymous egg donors. *sigh again*. Our doc made it sound like we'd be getting a 'selection' of donors to choose from once AF arrived. Well, she's here, and apparently the selection is not ready. We will be receiving a letter in the mail once we reach the top of the list, offering a donor to us. We can accept OR deny that donor, and we will stay at the top no matter what until we get the donor we want. Then, we'll match our cycles up from there. I'm just hoping and praying it goes more quickly than I'm thinking it will, and hoping we are able to get our cycle in before the end of the summer. *sigh again and again*
Ugg, now that I KNOW about the timing, suddenly it's all I can think of.

This is why I use a cart cover ...

...when I go shopping our on our high chair when we go out to eat:

Sitting is for babies

We have a monster on our hands. A monster that refuses to SIT in the bathtub when not being bathed. Uh Oh. LOL.
Our angel girl's latest accomplishments include standing in the tub, and reaching over the Tub Kneeler to get the bottles of shampoo or soap out. Forget toys in the tub; why play with them when you can bite on bottles?

Someone is becoming a bit precocious

Big blue eyes
You like my hair?
Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday, to me!

Another year, another age to remember. I'm turning 34 today, and so far,it's been a wonderful day. I was able to sleep in, and I chose to get up on my own at 8AM so I could go to my gym for this "Gym Jam" - a benefit for ALS. It was 3 classes combined into 11/2 hours, and I worked up a huge sweat and burned 895 calories according to my heart rate monitor! Whoot.

I came home, took my girl and fur kids for a walk, and CJ left to go get my car's oil changed.

Me and K have been playing non-stop, and she is loving our new "I''m gonna get you" game: she crawls up the stairs, as fast as she can (very well), and she crawls away from me. Then, she keeps turning around for me to crawl slowly and dramatically to "get her" and shower her with kisses. She has been laughing up a storm.

At 3PM today, we have my friend Beth's daughter Reya's 1st birthday party, so I best be off to feed my girl and I and get a nap in her and a shower to clean myself up.

New Puppy PJ's

Hello? Can you hear me now?
OK, that's better. Nana, are you there? *side note: she was chewing her Nuk, she never uses it otherwise!*
Hey! You like my new Puppy PJ's from my Nana Di? Mama likes that they have feet, are lightweight and have SNAPS on the front and back to keep my pants on!
Hee hee, I'm a funny girl
Away I go
Mama loves to smooch these cheeks

Ewwwwwww! TICK SEASON!

Tonight, I just got home from a late night book club (through the school district),
and I was rubbing my Tboy's neck as he lay on my lap and showered me with kisses. I felt a bump on his neck, and started pulling it, as it felt like a piece of dirt.
Um, no, it was a TICK!
EWWWWWWW!

So then, frantic, I checked out Sage's body and sure enough, she had one on the bottom of her paw! Realizing (bad doggie mama) that she has been biting at this for 2 nights now, I quickly screeched for CJ to come and get it, and we traumatized Sage, as she hates to have anything done to her near her paws.

Aww,the joys of summer have returned. Cross your fingers we see no more ticks in this house! It's too early to have 2 already!

Whew! All is well and we'll be picking a donor SOON!

am so sighing a huge sigh of relief!

CJ and I had our Doc follow up appointment today after all my blood work last week- I was so nervous that they were going to say I had diabetes. I had Gestational Diabetes when I was PG, and was nervous because my doctor told us that sometimes certain hormones and glucose level issues can also affect AF cycles (and mine are very irregular).

But alas, I freak out way too easily! All is well for me (*whew!*) and for CJ in the swimmer department, and he just wanted to go over our final game plan one last time. We don't need to tweak anything for us, and now that my mock cycle is over, they know how much estrogen to give me to build up my uterine lining when the "real show" happens.

And....my doc called the Schedule coordinator just for us and as soon as AF arrives (sometime after I stop my meds this coming Sunday), we will have an array of DONORS to choose from! We basically get characteristics, no pictures, but he said the recession is hitting their clinic as well, and while it's bad for them, it's good for US, as we will have more to choose from!

Our plan is to hopefully try in early -to mid- august and pray that we get lucky again!!!
OH MY! My heart! Such excitement and anticipation and fear and ....well, a wide range of emotions!!!

A year and a month: 13 months old

Blame mama for slacking. Our angel girl turned 13 months this past Saturday, and I neglected to do an update and picture post. It was amazing to us that the month between her first birthday and yet another month older went by so damn fast. I know I keep saying that every month, but it's true. It is a whirlwind of a life these days, and it makes me sad that she is getting so big. On the other hand, she is turning into quite the performer and its incredible and delightful to watch her grow and transform into this little "person". "They" (whoever they is) say that a child's personality is determined by age 2: if this is true, then we are going to have a load of fun with our angel girl. She is a ham! She's also shy initially with people she doesn't know or doesn't remember, but wait about 20 minutes , and the dinosaur comes out!

K's favorite thing to do lately is just act silly. She'll dance in place no matter where. we. are. She does this cute little shake of her shoulders and looks at us as if to say, "see, I'm dancing!". Of course, I tell her, "oh, you're dancing? " to which she'll shake her little shoulders even more wildly, and occasionally add in her head shake, too.

She crawls around often with her toys in her mouth, and last night, it was her socks. She immediately pulled her socks off when we got home from Elaine's and had completed our nightly fur kids walk. Then, making sure I saw her, she put one sock in her mouth and crawled around the living room like a crazy girl, the other sock in her hand. What a goof. Also, K wants to be right under our noses and toes. Cooking has become an adventure, as she likes to pull herself up on the drawers and keeping her away from the stove is our number one priority. K knows exactly which cupboards hold what, and she immediately zooms in on getting out the sieve each night for her "hat". LOL.

She is talking up a storm, and we laugh every day at how vocal she is. She is non-stop pure gibberish, with an occasional word that we might recognize. Our little sponge's latest word is "Cracker?". She'll hold out anything, edible or not, and say "cracker". Hee hee. She enjoys holding out her toes for mama to tickle *("where are your toes? oh, there they are! Tickle, tickle!")*, to which she'll immediately repeat "tickle, tickle", with her contagious giggles. She is beginning to put her hand on her head, and looks to me to say "Oh, that's your head!". At 13 months, my girl is learning body parts! It is amazing! She's also started imitating me in saying "uh oh" whenever she drops something, which has been her food at dinner time (dropping it or holding it out for the fur kids! UH OH is right!)

Last week, I told Sassy Sager she was a good girl, and K repeated after me, clear as a bell, "good girl". Of course, she hasn't been as clear in her repeating of this phrase since that one time, but she is attempting to repeat that every day now, too.

This weekend, she became obsessed with her little mobile ride-on toy. My parents got her to stay on it and actually move; who cares if it's only backwards? She also loves with all her heart, to push the toy all around the living room, and gets so frustrated (and well, downright PISSY!), when she is stuck. Uh oh, we have a diva with a temper in training!. My mom was saying 'nananan nananana" for the car engine sounds, and the next AM, K was saying "nana nana nana" to push it around. She catches on quick.

CJ reported to me the other night that K was playing with her blocks (shape sorters), and he put in the dinosaur toy balls in her block box. Apparently she didn't like that, and apparently she is beginning to sort, because she took each ball he put in the block box and very animatedly, dropped them out with a huff at him. LOL. Oh, boy!

I love my walks with the fur kids, and I'm learning how to keep my hats on!Help! I'm trapped! And...I just learned how to crawl up ALL the stairs by myself! WHOOT!
So damn excitd to see her main man, Dada Silly girl doing silly things all the time
Hey you, you talkin' about me?

Meeting with my doctor tomorrow

I realized I forgot to update you all on my last ultrasound on Friday. I had been told by the nurse to take my Estrogen (Estrace) 3 x a day versus the 2x a day I had been taking it. On Friday, my lining was right at an "8", where it should be, so we now know how to proceed in the estrogen department once the "real deal" occurs. Now, they added in some progesterone (provera) to my meds protocol, along with the estrogen, and I'll stop taking them both on Sunday, the 18th. When my AF arrives, I'm to call the office, and we find out where we are on the Anonymous Egg Donor waiting list (*gasp* my heart, it's speeding up as I even type this), and go from there with our medicine protocols. We are hoping to be matched, and then do our first (and hopefully, ONLY) attempt towards the end of summer, which we would ideally like to do. Last time, we lucked out so wonderfully by getting PG with K in July and having her in April. As a teacher, that would be IDEAL if I were lucky and blessed enough to get PG again on our first try *heartbeat fluttering again, and yes, nerves have kicked in, believe it or not*.

However, I am fearing some negative news about my body (ahh, my body, will you ever cooperate with me?), as my RE requested a meeting with me after my blood tests from last Monday came back. Obviously if the news were good, they wouldn't charge us a bloody fortune to meet with him, only to tell us the results were good, now would they? So, in my heart, I'm dreading that I may have something related to diabetes, or something wrong with some hormone or something in my own body. Hopefully, we can fix whatever that is, so I've requested that CJ come along with me to my meeting, as I tend to get emotional on the way home AFTER meetings such as there.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers that I am dreading this for no reason. I just don't want to hear any more "bad" news this week!

My Sassy Girl(s)

Our Keifer girl is honestly turning into SUCH a little ham! This is what she'll do: crawl around with a bird (or other toy) in her mouth, laugh, and shake her head like a dog. Where does she get this? LOL
Attempting to give Treble his bone!
and trying to give him yet another bone!
Our girl learned (all on her own!) how to feed the fur kids HER treats! Oh boy, here we go!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! My second time in my life (and K's) that I am lucky enough to be able to say "I am a mother!" We had a great weekend. My parents came down yesterday, and CJ and I celebrated Mother's Day/my birthday (next weekend) by going out to dinner, and thoroughly enjoying Iron Man (run, don't walk, to see it! It is wonderful and only deepens my crush on Robert Downey Jr.).

This AM, I was able to sleep in, and I awoke to beautiful tulips (my fave flower) and a gift card for a massage from my darling daughter! Then, we packed up our car and hit the MN zoo, where we indulged in a Family Pass for the year (which will pay for itself after only a couple visits) and enjoyed a few hours wandering around. We didn't get too far; K was getting tired, but she really seemed to enjoy the monkeys, and the fish, especially the dolphins. She kept waving at the monkeys and the fish, it was super sweet to see. We came home, my parents went home, and both K and mama took a nap. I woke up and treated myself to a pedicure, and now am relaxing, eating leftovers from my Tastefully Simple party on Friday. What a blessed weekend.
